A place where survivors can meet, share, listen, ask questions, express concerns, and even meet privately with a peer.

Survivor: to remain alive, to live on; to continue to function; both patient and family.

Mo Kan Burn Survivors Support Group:

Meeting Times:

Second Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Place: Turning Point, 8900 State Line Rd., Suite 240, Leawood, KS.  Please use the south entrance.

We provide a safe environment for survivors to discuss:

  • Practical concerns such as skin care, pressure garments, exercise

  • Life changes & how others are coping

  • Concerns about returning to work, school, and the community

  • Issues related to body image & image enhancement

  • Individual (one on one) peer support through the SOAR Program

  • Speakers who come to talk about a variety of subjects.

We also have other family activities to participate in such as holiday parties.

Children's Mercy Hospital

The first Family Support Group Meetings are held at the main downtown location.  Food will be provided at all meetings.  Parents an children are welcome to attend.  Please RSVP if you plan on attending and let us know if you have any food allergies.
